Branson Veterans of America 913

William G. Groninger Scholarship Criteria

 

The Branson Veterans of America 913 has established the following criteria for administering and awarding the William G. Groninger Scholarship Award: 

 

  • Two individual scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded from the Association Scholarship funds to provide assistance to the most deserving applicants determined in total anonymity by the Scholarship committee using a point system on the following two items: Written essay and personal interview

 

       The Following limitations are established:

 

  • The awards are considered for only those applicants who will be enrolling in a post-secondary institution; university, 4-year college, junior college, vo-tech, or trade school. The scholarship committee will consider any other.

  • The applicant must be intent on pursuing a course toward an associate, baccalaureate degree, or certificate of completion

  • The award is a one-time award, non-renewable

  • Applicants must have/had a relative living or deceased in the Military.

  • Applicants must be a senior enrolled in Stone or Taney county high school.

  • The application and supporting documents must be submitted and postmarked by. Applications postmarked after March 8, 2024, will not be considered. The complete application must include, in addition to the application form, the items listed below:                                                                           

  • 1. A letter of acceptance from the institution of the applicant or list of applications pending--award will not be made until acceptance has been verified    

  • 2. A transcript of high school credits through the first semester of the senior year.

  • The check will be sent directly to the winner's post-secondary institution upon confirmation of the student's enrollment and attendance. The applicant must provide the name and address of the institution.

  • Applications will be evaluated on March 23, 2024, by the Scholarship Committee.

  • The top ten applicants will be notified on March 25, 2024

  • Selected applicants will be required to interview with the Scholarship Committee on March 30, 2024, for a final selection

  • Winners will be notified by April 1, 2024.

  • Award will be presented at both April 22, 2024, BVA 913 meeting, and the student's school honor assembly upon receiving the date and time.

  • Winners MUST be available for April 22, 2024, BVA 913 Meeting.

  • Students who qualify and desire to apply for this award may obtain the application form from their school counselor or you may click the Application link to the left.

Branson Veterans of America 913

Honor Scholarship

 

The Branson Veterans of America 913 has established the following criteria for the administering and awarding of the Honor Scholarship Award: 

 

  • Two individual scholarships of $1000 each will be awarded from the Association Scholarship funds. The Scholarship is available and renewable up to a maximum of eight (8) semesters. Renewal of this scholarship is contingent upon the completion of a current application and confirmation that your grade point and enrollment have been set.

 

       Eligibility

 

  • Must be enrolled in at least your second year of College or Any Veteran returning to College.

  • Applicants must have/had a relative living or deceased in the Military. 

  • The application must be completed in full or it will not be considered.

  • Return the application by or before March 8, 2024

  • Applications must be postmarked no later than March 8, 2024.

       Requirements

 

  • Completed application

  • A student evaluation letter from a college advisor, teacher, or administrator testifying to your talents, financial need, GPA (at least 3.0), and seriousness of purpose

  • Typed Essay minimum of 500 words.

  • The essay question will change every year
